Can I purchase Windows XP Professional from Pepperdine?

Yes. This is the University's policy regarding sales of Windows XP to students:

Conditions:

1. The University IT department must do the installation for you.
2. The University IT department currently charges $25.99 for the CD and $50 per hour for labor. The amount of labor required depends on what operating system you currently have (e.g., install is short if you have Windows XP Home).
3. The University IT department has very limited availability for the installation service. Please make your appointment well in advance.
4. Installing Windows XP may require the reinstallation of your files and/or programs. Be sure you have a way to back up your files and restore your programs.
5. These policies and conditions are subject to change without notice.

To purchase Windows XP Professional:

1. Contact the University Call Center (Tech Central) at (310) 506-4357 to schedule an appointment.
2. At the appointment, your laptop will be examined to see if it meets the minimum requirements for running Windows XP, and you will be given an idea of how much labor will be required to upgrade your computer.
3. If your laptop meets the minimum requirements, you will be authorized to purchase a Windows XP Professional CD from "Tech Deck" (the University computer store) for $25.99.
4. The University IT department will then install Windows XP Professional for you and contact you when finished.
5. Unless specifically agreed otherwise, you will pick up your laptop and reinstall your own files and programs.
