I get an error message that says my account is "locked out"

If you incorrectly enter your password three or more times, the server may interpret you to be an intruder and lock the account to prevent you from guessing the password. The account will automatically unlock after one hour. Otherwise, you may contact the University Help Desk and request that your account be unlocked.

NOTE: If you find that you are locked out repeatedly, be sure that you are not a laptop user who recently changed his or her password. Your laptop may have been configured to connect to the printers and U drives with the old password; when your laptop automatically attempts to connect to the server, the server may interpret this as a series of suspicious intrusions and lock your account. SOLUTION: Use the instructions on this website to install your student printer and U drive connections again, this time with the proper password. See the Laptop section for more details.
