Setting your "Out of Office" message for voicemail and email

You can configure both your voicemail and your email to auto-respond to incoming messages by stating that you are out-of-the-office.  You can customize the message with such information as when you will return and/or what alternative means there are of contacting you.

To configure your email's "Out of Office Assistant," please visit the appropriate page in the Email section of this website.

To configure your Unity Messaging outgoing voicemail message, please either download the Unity Messaging manual or follow these steps for a simple re-record of your outgoing message.

  1. Access your voicemail as usual (i.e., dial x4002, press # during the message, enter your extension, enter your password).
  2. Press 4 (for "Setup Options").
  3. Press 1 (for "Greetings").
  4. Press 1 (for primary greeting).
  5. Press 1 to re-record your primary greeting.  Press # when finished recording.
  6. Make a note to yourself to re-record your greeting when you return to your office.
