How do I reserve and check out multimedia equipment?
Mobile equipment (i.e., not fixed in the room)
  • Due to the very high demand, you must contact the Law Computing Support office to reserve the equipment at least one week before you would like to use the mobile equipment.
  • If a student needs mobile equipment for a presentation, we must hear from the professor who will be present during its use. Either a signed handwritten note, fax, email, or voicemail that confirms their knowledge of the reservation will be sufficient. The student will need to present a photo ID at the time of check-out.
  • The projector is NEVER to leave the building.

Fixed equipment (i.e., located permanently in the room)

  • If you want to use the equipment already available in a room, you must first talk with the Receptionist in the Dean's Suite to reserve the room.
  • Once you have reserved the room you will need to check out a Classroom Kit at the Library Circulation Desk before each class.
  • Classroom Kits must be checked out and returned within ten minutes of class, in case of back-to-back uses.
  • It is NOT necessary to reserve fixed equipment with the LCS Office.
General requirements to reserve multimedia equipment
  • The equipment and rooms are first-come, first-served.  Please reserve your equipment early and only as long as you will actually need it.
  • Due to the limited LCS staff, whoever is using the equipment generally must be shown how to run it him/herself. We are more than happy to have the designated faculty/staff/student come in before the date of use so we can train them.
  • All equipment can be checked out at and returned to the Law Library Circulation Desk during regular library hours.  Equipment cannot be checked out early, nor can it be kept overnight.
  • All equipment must be returned in good condition (same as it left us).
  • If a student is using the equipment, please be sure they are aware of these policies, but the professor bears final responsibility for the equipment.
